October feels

It’s October and it finally feels a little bit like … Autumn. Not quite the holiday season just yet, thankfully … even if the retail stores are trying to get us to buy our christmas gifts like a month ago!

The leaves are changing colour and falling to the ground. The days are getting cooler, there’s a sense of Halloween eerie-ness as the nights are getting darker and it won’t be long until we have to turn the clocks back! (Sunday 28th October UK time)

The perfect time to be ticking a few items off of our Autumn Bucket List.

Autumn bucket list

What have we been up to?

We kicked off the Autumn season by baking a deliciously juicy apple crumble! We picked our own apples from the trees (we also had some handed to us by friends), and got set to peeling and baking! The tastiest apple crumble! Even better knowing we had picked our apples and made it with love. Hard work tastes good. Check out our Apple Crumble recipe and try it yourself. Let me know how you get on with it!

Next up – it’s scary movie time! Easing our selves into the horror season with 2014’s ‘Ouija’. We got comfy on the sofa with some popcorn, blankets and drinks ready for a night of pure evil but not much in the way of scares happens for a lot of this film … Have you seen the film? What did you think?

Last week I brought a touch of autumn to our front door with a homemade Autumn Wreath. It was surprisingly easy to do once I had decided on the look I was aiming for. You can read my blog post about how to make an autumn wreath here.

This last week I haven’t been feeling too well, suffering a cruddy autumn cold! Grrr! But this gave me a chance to snuggle up on the sofa with blankets and hot chocolate and tick another one off the list – we watched Hocus Pocus – I think Autumn is now complete!

We still have lots to tick off our Autumn bucket list and a few of them already planned such as :

pumpkin picking – were off on a Halloween adventure to scare school with the children so this will also tick off dressing up for Halloween too!

carve a pumpkin – I’m sure this will be done just in time for Halloween and with our freshly picked pumpkins no doubt!

– we will also be attending a bonfire and hopefully get to roast some marshmallows too! nom nom!

How’s your Autumn going so far?

Do you have an autumn bucket list of things you’d like to do?

Keep in touch!

Happy adventures

Love the wreath, and YES to scary movies! It doesn’t quite feel like fall here yet – guess we just have to wait.

I love autumn for apple picking and Halloween! But for now it still feels pretty much like summer where I live, so I haven’t really realised that it’s mid-October yet…

Ah I know what you mean. It’s been quite sunny just lately. But I’m loving the darker nights rolling in 😁 x

No better time of year than autumn. We have made a start on our Halloween movies and my kids are creating their costumes.
Your post has got me wanting to make apple crumble so that is what I will plan for the weekend.
